10835 Bailey Road, Cornelius NC 28031. We have roughly 3.5 acres of fenced play yards off I-77, between Hwy 21 and Hwy 115.
All dogs must be over the age of 16 weeks, with annual rabies and distemper vaccinations, and on flea preventative. We require bordetella (kennel cough) boosters every 6 months. Once a pet reaches 26 weeks, they must be spayed or neutered to be at Camp Wagging Tails.
We are an off leash, fully interactive play facility. All dogs must be able to interact safely with other dogs and staff. We cannot do one on one or separate play. We reserve the right to cease day camp or boarding services at any time for behavioral and safety issues.
All dogs must complete a meet and greet before day camp or boarding. Dogs interested only in grooming or private training do not need to complete a meet and greet.
A meet and greet is a full day of camp, dropping off between 7:15-7:30am with $40 due at pick up between 3-6pm. This helps our staff get to know your pet and determine which play group they do best in. We split up playgroups by size, age and play style. We are also watching for how your pet interacts with other dogs, staff and if they are comfortable in the cabin.
Yes! We have a full time trainer and full time groomer on staff!
Our groomer can do full grooms, bath and brush as well as lots of other a la carte services like ear plucking, anal gland expressions and nails trims.
We offer a free training evaluation to help determine which one of our training packages would be a best fit for you and your dog. Our trainer uses a gentle, science-based approach to help with reactivity, impulse control, crate comfort and obedience needs.

All medications should be kept in original packaging per North Carolina state law. This includes over-the-counter supplements and prescription medications. Please do not pack supplements or medications into food bags.
Feel free to bring a blanket, toy and some of your pet’s favorites treats! Please be advised we do not allow beds but have loads of blankets here that we can add onto your pet’s cot. We do not allow rawhide, bones, antlers or any chew item that cannot be broken in half. This includes Nylabone products.
It depends on the medical issue. Pets with ear infections, mild anxiety, minor digestion issues, cancer and minor sight or hearing issues are easily accommodated. Due to state law, we are unable to board diabetics or any condition that requires injection.
Older pets generally do fine here and enjoy naps in the sunshine. We can reduce play time but cannot accommodate older pets that are unable to move without assistance, high levels of anxiety or with severe sight or hearing issues. We reserve the right to cease boarding or day camp services at any time based on age or health status.
North Carolina state law requires all prescription medications and over the counter supplements to be kept in original packaging. Bottles and bags must have your pet's name, medication/supplement and dosage. This includes joint supplements, calming aids, allergy medications, etc. We will administer all medications free of charge.
Please do not pack medications or supplements in your pet's food. This is against state law and we cannot accurately track if your pet has taken the whole of their dosage this way. We offer cream cheese and peanut butter free of charge but feel free to pack your pet’s preferred method if different.
We are an off leash, interactive play facility and may not be a best fit for all dogs. We cannot do independent or one on one boarding. All pets must be able to get along with dogs and staff. Pets that show signs of aggression will not be able to camp with us.
We reserve the right to cease day camp or boarding at any time for behavioral and safety issues. We would be happy to make recommendations for in home sitters or smaller facilities in the area.
We will always reach out to you first unless it is a critical emergency. A member of staff will fully explain what’s happened, how your pet is doing and ask what type of treatment you wish you to do. Often it is simple as approving diarrhea protocol or administration of over-the-counter medications like Benadryl or dog safe Neosporin.
In the event of a vet visit, we will try to schedule with your vet first. Should they not have an appointment on the same day, North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital is a wonderful facility and less than 5 minutes from us. Staff will transport your pet free of charge and maintain any necessary care once back at CWT. Owners are responsible for any invoices incurred while at the vet.
We try very hard to ensure dogs attending camp are friendly and do well in an off-leash environment. Our staff are trained to understand dog behavior and see any potential issues. Small scratches, nicks and loss of patches of fur are a normal part of dog play. It is possible for more serious injury to occur. Owners are responsible for any incidents or damage from their dog.
Of course! We would love to show you around! You do not need an appointment to check out behind the scenes but we do recommend coming between 9:00-10:00am, 10:30-11am, or 1:30-2:30pm Monday through Friday. These are the timeframes we can give you a slower tour as the dogs are not transitioning around the center. If our lobby is open, we would love to meet you!
